In mid-August we went to Saltspring Island to visit my aunt. We camped in Ruckle Provincial Park which is a tent-only park. You have to walk everything in about 100 yards and you have an amazing view of the strait.
Here, the kids are playing on a rock just below where my aunt lives not far from the ferry dock. Our time here included a row in an ancient rowboat with George (covivant of my aunt). The boat is 100 years old and was quite tippy with 4 of us in it. Madeleine was like an old, worried woman but we did land safely so her worries were for not. What a beautiful, peaceful, nature-inspired spot the Island is!
